Boson Exam Environment

Activations

If you experience a problem while activating an exam, you can try to resolve it by applying the following solutions.

Please submit a support ticket, and provide as much information as you can so that we can assist you quickly.

  1. Verify that you have entered your user name and password correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  2. Verify that you have entered the activation key correctly and that you are using the correct key for the correct product. You can copy and paste your activation key from the purchase receipt you received or by logging in to your account on the Boson website and selecting the Purchase History tab. Activation keys are version- and product-specific. Therefore, you will only be able to use that key to activate one product. For example, a key for the Boson ExSim-Max for Cisco 200-301 CCNA practice exam will not activate a 350-401 practice exam, because keys are created for different products.
  3. Try temporarily disabling your User Account Control (UAC), firewall, and antivirus applications. Occasionally, security software can cause an activation or installation problem. If the Boson Exam Environment (BEE) is still not able to access our activation server, you may need to consult your IT administrator and verify that your computer is not accessing the Internet via a proxy server.
  4. Ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet. If your computer is not able to access the Internet, you will not be able to activate an exam that is delivered through the BEE.

If you have not done so already, you will need to purchase an activation key. Activation keys and instructions can be found on the purchase receipt. You can view your receipt(s) at any time by logging in to your Boson.com account and selecting the Purchase History tab.

ExSim-Max Online App:

  1. Click the User button, and select Feedback.
  2. Select the type of feedback that you would like to submit, and type any comments that you want to send to the Boson team.

ExSim-Max/BEE Download version:
  1. Click Feedback to open the Send Feedback dialog box.

Products

ExSim-Max practice exams may be taken as many times as wanted during the license period. Yes, you can retake an exam.

ExSim-Max practice exam products contain multiple preset practice exams that can be taken or retaken as many times as wanted. In addition to the preset practice exams that are included, you can also choose to take a random exam or create a custom exam.

A random exam is created from a pool of all the questions in the product, in a random order.

A custom exam enables you to customize the number of questions you wish to view, and you can choose questions according to category, case study, and keyword.

Purchasing / Refunds

ExSim-Max Practice Exams
No returns or exchanges will be accepted or refunds granted for products purchased and delivered electronically once you have activated, downloaded or accessed the full version, except under the terms and conditions of the Boson No Pass, No Pay ExSim-Max Guarantee.

If the product has not been activated, downloaded or accessed, the customer has thirty (30) days from the date of purchase to return the product for refund. All sales are final thirty (30) days from date of purchase.

If the ExSim-Max product was discounted or part of a kit, the refund will be prorated to reflect the actual purchase price of the product.

NetSim Products
If you are not satisfied with your NetSim purchase, you may return or exchange the purchased product within the first forty-eight (48) hours (the "Grace Period") after you have accessed the full version, provided the activation occurred within thirty (30) days from the date of purchase. No returns or exchanges will be accepted or refunds granted following the initial forty-eight (48) hours from product activation.

If the product has not been activated, the customer has thirty (30) days from the date of purchase to return the product for refund. All sales are final thirty (30) days from date of purchase.

If the NetSim product was discounted or part of a kit, the refund will be prorated to reflect the actual purchase price of the product.

If you are outside the states of Tennessee and Florida, our website will not charge sales tax on your order. If you are a tax-exempt entity in one of the two states listed above, please call us at 877-333-EXAM (3926), and we’ll be glad to assist you with these orders.

Technical

ExSim-Max/BEE Download version:
Files occasionally become corrupt during the download process. To restore missing files, images, or exhibits, please update the software. To update the software, you should do the following: First, select the exam that is missing images or exhibits from the My Exams tab and then click the Exam Tools button. From this menu, click Update current exam to begin the update.

Please allow the update to complete; you will see a message or pop-up box stating that your exam is now up to date. This should resolve any issue you have with the files, images, or exhibits.

    • Chrome/Edge/Brave Version 80 or higher (recommended)
    • Safari Version 10 or higher (recommended only for iOS devices)

    • The BEE can support screens as narrow as a smartphone (375 × 500 to be exact), but some sim questions may become difficult to use.
  • A mouse and keyboard or a touch-enabled device

Boson Courseware is delivered in our e-reader app that allows you to read your curriculum and lab guides on your mobile or desktop web browser. An active internet connection is required.

The Boson Courseware Online (Digital) Edition is delivered electronically via secure web pages that can be used with any modern internet browser with JavaScript enabled and access to third party websites permitted. An internet connection is required.

Yes, Boson Courseware Online (Digital) products are delivered via secure web pages that can be used with any modern internet browser with JavaScript enabled and access to third party websites permitted. An active internet connection is required. Therefore, you can access your online (digital) product(s) with any device that has an internet connection and supports modern web browsers.

Document viewing is unlimited during the license period.

You will have unlimited access to your Online (Digital) Courseware during the license period.

Yes, you can print Courseware documents for personal use only if using Boson's e-reader app. See Courseware User-Agreement.

For legacy products using the Javelin reader, printing is not an available feature.

If you need help, you can submit a support ticket by logging in to your Boson Online Account; selecting the Support Tickets tab and starting a new ticket.

Purchasing / Refunds

You can view all your previous purchase receipts by logging in to your Boson Online Account and viewing your Purchase History.

All modern web browsers are supported, but they must have JavaScript support enabled and access to third party websites permitted. Check your web browser Settings to ensure that both JavaScript support and third-party website permissions are enabled.

NetSim Network Simulator

Activations

The message NetSim License has expired might be displayed in NetSim for any of the following reasons:

  • NetSim has not been activated.
  • An e-mail address for a valid Boson account has not been entered in the E-mail Address field.
  • The password for a valid Boson account was incorrectly typed in the Password field.
  • The activation key entered in the Activate Keys dialog box is invalid or typed incorrectly.
  • NetSim has not been able to access the Internet for an extended period of time.
  • An activation key has not been purchased for NetSim.
You can access the NetSim Activate Keys dialog box by clicking Help > Activate Keys from the NetSim menu bar. If you have a valid activation key and are still unable to activate NetSim, you should contact Boson customer support by submitting a support ticket.

Boson has license options for academic, organizational, and corporate clients. We do not sell licenses that can be shared, and licenses cannot be transferred from one registered user to another. Each end user must have his or her own license. The NetSim demo is a fully functional version of NetSim that has a limited command set. The purpose of the NetSim demo is to allow you to evaluate the applications included in the NetSim suite and how they interact with each other. You can download a demo of NetSim from the Boson downloads page of the Boson website.

Boson does not have a set interval for releasing updates. Software updates are released only when significant changes are made to NetSim. For example, the resolution of a major bug or the addition of new features would prompt a software update.

Technical

Your account has not been created yet, please contact your course provider and make sure that your account has been created. If so and you are still receiving this message please tell us the name of your course provider and details of your account we shall contact them.

Please log a call with us and we will investigate what is wrong with your account.

Please try pressing the connect button, the device might not have powered up fully resulting in this error, if you still receive this error ensure you are running the latest version of Java which can be downloaded at www.java.com. Alternatively you can try connecting using the HTML5 client.

Occasionally all the labs of a particular course may be busy or being upgraded. You can enter your email address to be alerted when a lab is free, or you can come back at a later time and try again.

If you are detected as inactive then you will be prompted to see if you still want to use the lab, you will have 5 minutes to respond to continue using the lab, if we do not get a response then you shall be logged out of the lab. If you are using the lab and will need to be absent from your computer, please use the ‘Out to lunch’ function, this will give you an hour and a half until you will be logged out of the lab.

Please ensure you read each step very carefully when carrying out tasks; remember the devices are real so changes you make may impact another task later so by not completing one task you may not be able to complete the next as there is a dependency. You should also refer back to your course content to ensure you understand that task that you are carrying out. If you feel there is an error in the content please let us know and we will rectify the issue if something is not correct.

We sometimes see this issue if you have connected to the lab using the new HTML5 client. To overcome this you can either:

  1. Use the java client and launch the devices in page.
  2. Use HTML 5 client and go to settings and chance the "launch MS device in separate window" to ON.

Travel and accommodations are not included.

There is a minimum of four (4) students required for us to provide on-site training.

We require 30 calendar days’ notice to reschedule or to cancel any registration (and provide refund for pre-payment). Enrollments must be rescheduled within one year of the original enrollment date or funds on account will be forfeited. Fees for software or other materials received by or ordered on behalf of the student are non-refundable. Failure to provide the required notification will result in 100% charge for the course. If a student does not attend a scheduled course without giving prior notification, the student’s funds will be forfeited and the student will not be allowed to reschedule. After the 30-day notification deadline has passed, only student substitutions are allowed; no refunds will be given. Student substitutions are allowed up to seven (7) days before class.

We keep the class size small to allow the instructor to provide individualized attention where needed.

You may take your certification exam when you are ready. We are a VUE testing center, and exams are offered on-site during Tampa courses. However, if you prefer to take the exam after your course, we will schedule it at a VUE testing center near you.

It is recommended that you bring a laptop with you so that you can continue to study in the evenings.

All of our instructors are Cisco Certified Instructors and have years of experience. To find out the specific instructor for your course, please contact an account executive at training@boson.com or 877.333.3926 and press 2.

Substitutions can be made at no charge up to seven (7) business day before the class start. You must provide the name and contact information of the substitute, along with any amended payment information available, such as purchase order or credit card information.

Select courses are eligible for Cisco Learning Credits. Contact an account executive at training@boson.com or 877.333.3926 and press 2 to determine course eligibility.

Exam vouchers that are included with a course are valid for one (1) year from the class start date.

Once the registration is complete, each student will be able to immediately download the software product and start preparing for the upcoming class.
